Classes for every stage

From a four-year-old's first steps to a senior student's Arangetram, every level follows the traditional Margam.

Our levels

Six levels, one tradition

1.Bala Bharatham

Who it is for
Children aged 4–6
What students learn
Introduction to rhythm, music, basic postures and simple steps through play.

2.Beginner

Who it is for
New students aged 6 and above
What students learn
Basic adavus (steps) up to the first performance items, such as Pushpanjali and Kavuthuvam.

3.Intermediate

Who it is for
Students who have completed about four items
What students learn
Items five to eight of the Margam, such as Jathiswaram and Shabdam, with expression (abhinaya) and stage work.

4.Advanced

Who it is for
Students with eight or more items
What students learn
Varnam, Padam, Thillana and advanced choreography.

5.Master Class

Selected students at each level
What students learn
Intensive workshops with visiting senior gurus from India and Singapore.

Senior students ready for a solo debut

Individual preparation for the full solo Margam performance with a live orchestra.
Our learning journey

How classes run

Class format

  • Group classes run 4 times a month, 60 minutes each.
  • Extra practice sessions are arranged before performances.
  • Classes are held at our home studio in Sengkang (Anchorvale).
  • Private lessons are available for Intermediate and Advanced students.
  • Adult beginners are welcome.
